HOW I GREW MY LASHES IN JUST TWO WEEKS

Can we all agree that eyelash serums don’t really do much? I’m certain that I’m not the only one that feels this way. I have been obsessed with the idea of having naturally long lashes for years, so much so that I tried every product I could find, until I finally discovered The One.

You’d be astonished with the amount of money that I’ve spent on lash serums that turned out to be all talk. Even I’m astonished (and a little disappointed tbh) that I actually spent that much. All I could think about was growing my eyelashes, and I was determined to find a way.

Unsurprisingly, none of these shop bought products did anything at all (but drain my money, *cries*). I expanded my research, now looking for individual ingredients that boost lash growth. I came across two main elements, and I’m going to talk about the first today, because the second worked more with hair, so I’ll be posting a chapter on that soon!

This ingredient was coconut oil. So much money spent on fancy products, when the best solution was on the shelf at your nearest store, and at a good price, might I add. If you follow my advice on anything, let it be this. It has worked literal miracles on my lashes.

Before you jump straight into applying it, there are a few things you should know.

First of all, I do not recommend this procedure if you’re allergic to anything to do with coconut oil (any of the ingredients). If you aren’t sure whether you’re allergic, it’s always best to get a quick allergy test before you use it, just in case.

Coconut oil is very beneficial to skin and hair, and I actually read that it lowers bad cholesterol levels and increases good cholesterol levels (translation: it’s good for the heart). Overall, it’s a healthy product both to ingest and to use as a part of your skin care. Despite this, if applied wrong, it can cause serious irritations to your eye. I’ll explain how I apply coconut oil to my lashes without getting it in my eye with an image down below.

The important thing is to target the root of your lash, because if you apply it to the tip, it won’t do much. There are two sides of the root: the side that connects to your eyelid and the side that drops down into your eye. You want to get a thin brush (not the kind you would use for mascara, the paintbrush kind is what you want. Make sure it’s soft, to minimise risk of irritation) and gently apply the oil along the side that connects to the lid. I repeat this every night before bed, but when you do this is up to you (by the way, the eye in the pic belongs to model Nastya Kusakina).

I tried to be as clear as I could, but if I wasn’t clear enough, hopefully the image will help. If you still have doubts, don’t be afraid to ask me in the comments or by sending me a private email (find it in the ‘contact’ section of this site). It’s always best to be certain of what you’re doing.

MY RESULTS:

Normally, this would be the part where I add before and after pictures. Unfortunately I didn’t take a before pic, so I’ll describe instead.

Before using coconut oil, my lashes were short and weak. I didn’t see the point in curling my lashes, because there was nothing to curl lol (*cries again*).

After religiously applying the oil to my lashes every night (results in two weeks, honestly), they’re not only so much longer, but also darker, thicker and stronger. I can proudly say that I curl my lashes with no difficulties now :D.

If you decide to try this technique, please share your experience with me, I’d love to read your stories. Anyway, thank you so so much for reading, I hope that this was helpful for you, and until next time!
